About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) team. You'll work directly alongside physicians and nursing staff to prepare, support, and maintain a safe, sterile surgical environment for outpatient procedures.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to established sterile technique and procedure-specific requirements
• Set up the operating/procedure room prior to each case and ensure all instrumentation and supplies are accounted for
• Pass instruments and supplies to the physician during procedures, anticipating needs based on the surgical plan
• Maintain the sterile field throughout each procedure and immediately flag any breaks in sterility
• Count instruments, sponges, and sharps before and after each procedure and document accurately
• Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization/processing of instruments post-procedure
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and safety procedures before and after surgery
• Report equipment malfunctions, missing instruments, or supply shortages promptly
• Maintain compliance with all infection control standards, OSHA guidelines, and facility protocols
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, nursing staff, and other care team members
Required Qualifications
1 Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology, or current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
2 Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
3 Current TB test and Flu vaccination
4 Hepatitis and Varicella titers (or documented immunity)
5 COVID-19 vaccination (mandatory)
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and assist with patient transfers/positioning
• Requires manual dexterity and precision handling of surgical instruments
• Ability to lift/move equipment and supplies as needed
