Function/Duties of Position

Nocturnist Hospitalist - Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (PICU)

Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine

Join a high-performing, collaborative Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team where your expertise will make a life-saving difference every night.

We are seeking a dedicated Nocturnist Hospitalist to provide overnight coverage in our dynamic PICU. This role is ideal for a clinician who thrives in autonomous, high-acuity environments and values focused clinical excellence without the additional demands of research, teaching, or administrative responsibilities.

Schedule & Structure

  • 10 to 12 night shifts per month (1700 to 0700)
  • Occasional weekend day coverage may substitute for select nights
  • Structured, face-to-face handoffs to ensure seamless continuity of care

This schedule offers concentrated clinical impact with meaningful time off between shifts.

What You'll Do

As a Nocturnist Hospitalist, you will serve as a critical leader in overnight patient care for our most vulnerable pediatric patients.

You will:

  • Deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality care in a fast-paced PICU environment
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop evidence-based treatment plans
  • Manage acute and chronic critical illness
  • Interpret diagnostic studies and manage advanced therapies
  • Prescribe and adjust medications with thoughtful risk assessment
  • Provide anticipatory guidance to families and caregivers
  • Maintain thorough, timely EMR documentation
