Job description

Oregon City School District is seeking a qualified, and enthusiastic Driver's Education Instructor to prepare students to become safe, confident, and responsible drivers. This role involves delivering comprehensive classroom theory and practical, behind-the-wheel instruction that complies with all Oregon state regulations and ODOT approved program/curriculum.

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Deliver engaging, structured classroom instruction on traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and road safety awareness.

2. Conduct hands-on, in-vehicle driving lessons, providing individualized coaching and constructive feedback on maneuvering, parallel parking, and highway driving.

3. Assess and document student progress, providing timely reports and communication to students and/or parents/guardians.

4. Maintain a safe, controlled, and professional environment during all training sessions.

Qualifications: 

1. Candidate must pass and maintain current credentials from Western Oregon University (traffic safety class.) -

2. Valid Driver's License and clean driving record (two year look back required).

3. High school diploma or GED equivalent. 

4. Proven ability to remain patient and calm while providing clear, concise instruction.

5. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $28.00 per hour

This position is paid hourly and is a casual, hourly (non-contract) position.
