Supply Chain Director - Global Manufacturing Operations
Location: Tomball, TX 77375
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Work Environment: 100% Onsite
Compensation: $165,000 - $185,000 Base Salary + Target Bonus (~10%)
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Director to build and lead a world-class global supply chain organization supporting a complex, project-based manufacturing environment.
This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for a strategic yet hands-on professional who thrives in a player/coach role. You will be responsible for developing supply chain infrastructure from the ground up while implementing scalable processes, systems, and teams to support rapid organizational growth and international expansion.
The ideal candidate brings strong expertise across sourcing, procurement, planning, inventory management, logistics, supplier development, and ERP implementation within a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Leadership
  • Lead all supply chain functions including sourcing, procurement, material planning, inventory management, logistics, and supplier performance.
  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for complex manufactured components and assemblies.
  • Design and implement scalable processes, procedures, and operational controls to support long-term growth.
Supplier Management & Global Sourcing
  • Establish and manage strategic supplier partnerships including qualification, onboarding, contract negotiation, and performance management.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives, supplier performance improvements, and supply risk mitigation programs.
  • Expand and support multi-site and international supplier networks.
Planning, Inventory & Logistics
  • Implement material planning and inventory control processes, including MRP and demand planning.
  • Optimize inventory levels, material flow, and working capital utilization.
  • Oversee domestic and international logistics operations, freight management, transportation, and trade compliance activities.
ERP Implementation & Systems Integration
  • Lead ERP implementation initiatives and help build supply chain systems from the ground up.
  • Oversee supply chain master data including item masters, supplier records, bills of materials (BOMs), and planning parameters.
  • Develop reporting capabilities and system optimizations that improve business visibility and decision-making.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Project Management teams.
  • Align material availability with production schedules and project timelines.
  • Support strategic business initiatives and operational growth objectives.
Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish and monitor KPIs including:
    • On-time delivery
    • Supplier performance
    • Inventory accuracy
    • Lead times
    • Cost savings
  • Create dashboards and executive-level reporting to provide actionable insights.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain organization.
Team Development & Organizational Growth
  • Build and scale the supply chain function as the company expands.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop supply chain professionals across multiple locations.
  • Create organizational structure, accountability, and sustainable operating practices.
Qualifications
Required Experience
  • 7-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain, procurement, operations, or related areas.
  • Proven success leading global supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience implementing ERP systems and/or building supply chain infrastructure from the ground up.
  • Strong background in sourcing, procurement, planning, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Experience developing scalable processes in a high-growth organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Operations, Engineering, Finance, and executive leadership teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical or engineering background with the ability to understand complex manufactured components and assemblies.
  • Experience supporting international operations and global sourcing initiatives.
  • Prior success building or scaling supply chain organizations within startup, private equity-backed, or rapidly growing environments.
