Ensure appropriate supplies are stocked, delivered, and inventory is adequately stocked in multiple locations.Position Details:

Mercy Hospital St. Louis | Full-Time

Position Overview

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Supply Chain Technician to support the efficient flow of medical supplies, equipment, and linens throughout the hospital. In this role, you will utilize supply chain management systems to receive, stock, distribute, and track inventory while ensuring clinical departments have the resources needed to deliver exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to providing outstanding internal customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Distribution

  • Fill supply requests accurately and efficiently using supply chain software systems.
  • Stock medical and non-medical supplies in designated inventory locations and PAR areas.
  • Verify product accuracy, quantities, package integrity, and sterility requirements when applicable.
  • Rotate inventory to minimize expiration risks and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages to inventory control teams.
  • Deliver supplies, equipment, and linen to appropriate departments throughout the hospital.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and documentation using supply chain systems.

Receiving & Warehousing

  • Receive incoming supplies and equipment utilizing supply chain software.
  • Identify, document, and report shipment discrepancies according to established procedures.
  • Prepare received products for storage and distribution.
  • Research and assist in resolving lost or missing packages.

Linen Management

  • Stock and maintain linen inventories at assigned PAR levels.
  • Ensure linens are stored and handled according to quality, cleanliness, and patient safety standards.
  • Rotate linen inventory and monitor for quality concerns.
  • Support linen deliveries, pickups, and inventory tracking processes.

Equipment Distribution

  • Deliver and retrieve patient care equipment according to hospital procedures.
  • Clean, stage, and prepare equipment in compliance with infection prevention guidelines.
  • Assist with equipment assembly when necessary.
  • Coordinate handling of malfunctioning equipment for Clinical Engineering review and repair.

Customer Service

  • Provide exceptional service to hospital departments and clinical staff.
  • Support service recovery efforts and respond promptly to supply-related needs.
  • Utilize work time productively to support departmental goals and patient care operations.

Technology & Compliance

  • Accurately perform data entry and inventory transactions within supply chain software systems.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications and other business systems as needed.
  • Complete required training, mandatory education, and compliance activities on time.
  • Adhere to all hospital safety, infection prevention, and departmental policies.

Team Collaboration

  • Assist in training and onboarding new team members.
  • Participate in department projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support Supply Chain operations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • No prior experience required; training will be provided.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in healthcare, supply chain, warehouse, distribution, logistics, or inventory management.
  • Experience using inventory management or ERP software systems.
