Job description

As a Senior Analyst - Supply Chain & Procurement, you will gather data and conduct complex analysis with the goal of improving supply chain and procurement operations. You will identify underperforming areas in the supply chain and purchasing processes and suggest improvements or resolutions to problems. You will perform analytics and statistical modelling on large data sets to optimize supply chain operations, procurement workflows, sourcing activities, reduce costs, and increase efficiency. You will apply mathematical, statistical, and economic techniques to determine and forecast the cost and availability of raw materials, supplier performance, customer demand, production capacity, and cost-effective shipping options. You will support procurement and buying activities by analyzing spend data, supplier performance, market trends, and sourcing opportunities to drive value and mitigate risk. You will create data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify supply chain and procurement improvements and simulate the impact of proposed initiatives. You will partner with business line managers, procurement teams, buyers, and key stakeholders to understand and frame operational and sourcing challenges for further analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain professional knowledge regarding the market drivers, market trends, economic forecasts, supplier base, and competitive intelligence.
  • Negotiate contract elements, including terms and conditions, pricing, lead-time, engineering standardization and category strategy development.
  • Communicate and coordinate supplier strategies. Serve as customer contact and alliance manager for supply chain issues.
  • Manage suppliers' performance, including support, development and monitoring of supplier performance metrics, as well as corrective action plans for performance failures.
  • Prepare, distribute and award RFQ blankets and review expiring blankets for re-bid to ensure commodity and inventory strategies are aligned with key customer initiatives/metrics.
  • Analyze material demand and determine inventory strategy or alternative supply chain strategies for maintaining high material availability at the lowest total ownership costs.
  • Determine, load and update pricing and lead time in purchasing database.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Supply Chain Management/Administration is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree - International Economy & Trading / Supply Chain Management / Administration is preferred.
  • 5 years' related experience with a proven track record in supply chain value.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience dominating the below skills:
  • Proven, effective analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills, ability to generate accurate and timely analysis using advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong data mining, aggregation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately and manage process to finalize open items pending from external sources.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and departments within the organization.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and multi task.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity.
  • Motivated self-starter who is organized, efficient and team- oriented.
  • Ability to travel 0-25% of the time.

This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.

For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan,subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
