Job description

We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager to lead our supply chain activities of the organization, including strategy, inventory management, planning, warehousing, and shipping. This role is responsible for understanding as well as overall management of our warehouse, planning and transportation process, ensuring cost effective, efficient on time delivery to customers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide overall direction and support of the warehouse, planning and transportation team activities
  • Support the continued development of Studco's lean supply chain culture, driving continual process improvements and efficiencies across all divisions
  • Create / improve management control systems, review performance and overcome performance limiting issues.
  • Use data and daily/weekly reporting to drive actions on the floor to meet target KPI's and production planning.
  • Accountable for setting and achieving the logistics departmental budget, including management of all transportation costs.
  • Manage expenditures for equipment, materials, and human resources, ensuring they are used efficiently to meet production targets.
  • Management reporting on Supply Chain initiatives, savings and spend with full P&L responsibility for Supply Chain.
  • Evaluate and adjust available production capacity and planned requirements for the Building Products division of the business, including risk mitigation for planning function
  • Monitor production scheduling to ensure all resources are used to optimize output.
  • Responsible for raw material purchasing and steel vendor relationship management, ensuring materials and consumables are available within required time frames to service customer needs
  • Holds ultimate responsibility for RF Smart and accurate inventory results.
  • Ensure product quality standards are met
  • Resolve problems on site as they arise, reducing the impact of unforeseen difficulties.
  • Ensure the workforce has the appropriate skill sets and is motivated and performing to expectations.
  • Responsible for the safe, neat, and tidy appearance of the whole workplace environment.
  • Other reasonable duties as directed.

Communication

  • Assist with facilitating warehouse cross shift huddles alongside Warehouse Manager
  • Support both first and second shift with leadership development,
  • Communicate with Sales and Planning team to plan to market demands and needs.
  • Effectively organize team meetings where communication and openness are paramount.

Continuous Improvement

  • Regularly review warehouse processes to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain 5S and implement lean principles to reduce waste and inefficiencies.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience in leadership of supply chain operations management within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of raw material purchasing, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing effective performance.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles
  • Effective oral communication skills including proven skills in leading a workforce, developing
  • and managing cooperative working relationships and resolving issues by negotiation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Focus on cost control and efficiency.
  • Ability to handle pressure and assess and allocate priorities.

  • Internal and external customer orientation.
