Reports To: Chief Operations Officer

FLSA Status: Exempt


Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading all planning, purchasing, inventory control, and supplier management activities to ensure the timely flow of materials and services required to support manufacturing operations and customer commitments. This position plays a critical role in aligning demand, capacity, and material availability while driving operational efficiency, inventory optimization, and on-time delivery performance.

Working closely with Operations, Production, Quality, Engineering, and Customer Service, the Supply Chain Manager develops and executes supply chain strategies that support business objectives and continuous improvement initiatives. This role serves as a key leader in maximizing ERP system effectiveness, improving data integrity, and establishing processes that enable informed decision-making throughout the organization.

The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, extensive manufacturing supply chain experience, and a proven ability to manage complex procurement activities within an AS9100 aerospace environment.


Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Planning and Purchasing personnel to support organizational goals and customer requirements.
  • Drive effective utilization of the ERP system as the primary source of information for planning, procurement, inventory management, and production scheduling.
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies that balance service levels, working capital objectives, and production requirements.
  • Establish departmental objectives, monitor performance, and drive accountability across the supply chain function.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Allocate resources and prioritize activities to support changing business needs and production demands.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of planning data, including lead times, bills of material, routings, safety stock levels, and purchasing parameters.
  • Oversee procurement activities for raw materials, and outside processing services.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent performance in quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.
  • Develop supplier scorecards and performance metrics, including supplier on-time delivery and quality performance.
  • Negotiate pricing, long-term supply agreements, and strategic partnerships that support business objectives.
  • Coordinate sourcing activities and supplier capacity planning to support forecasted demand and customer commitments.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to material availability, supplier capacity, lead times, and geopolitical or market conditions.
  • Oversee Material Requirements Planning activities and implement corrective actions to address shortages, excess inventory, and planning discrepancies.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIโ€™s) including: On-Time Delivery (OTD), Supplier On-time Delivery, Inventory Turns, MRP Accuracy, Purchase Price Variance, Material Availability
  • Present performance results, trends, and improvement plans to senior leadership.
  • Perform other duties, projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a supply chain management role, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with CNC machining.
  • Proficient in the use of manufacturing software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Experience with JobBossยฒ a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
