This role will analyze inventory performance, recommend and execute transfer strategies, support SKU rationalization decisions, and partner closely with Sales to move slow-moving and discontinued items. The Analyst plays a critical part in supporting service-level improvement, inventory efficiency, and data-driven decision making across the business.

Key Responsibilities Inventory Optimization & Network Balancing

  • Execute and recommend inter-warehouse transfers to improve service levels and reduce stockouts.
  • Analyze trends to proactively highlight future inventory risks and opportunities.

  • Partner with Demand Planning and Purchasing to link ABC classifications to stocking strategies and replenishment thresholds.
Stockout Reduction & Root Cause Analysis
  • Track stockouts across the network and investigate root causes (forecast gaps, supplier issues, positioning errors, etc.).
  • Partner with Warehouse Operations, Purchasing, and Demand/Supply Planning to execute corrective actions.
  • Measure and report weekly improvements in stock availability and fill rates.
Slow-Moving, Excess & Discontinued Inventory Management
  • Collaborate with Sales to create action plans for moving slow-moving, excess, and discontinued items.
  • Provide visibility into aging inventory, risk items, and recommended strategies (promotions, reallocation, returns, etc.).
  • Drive alignment with cross-functional teams to ensure a single process for reviewing and acting on aged inventory.
Analytics, Reporting & Decision Support
  • Develop dashboards and reports on inventory health, stockouts, excess, supplier performance, and transfer effectiveness.
  • Provide analytical support for SIOP, purchasing decisions, and executive reporting.
  • Present clear insights and recommendations to leadership based on data trends.
SKU Rationalization
  • Assess SKU performance using demand history, profitability, and velocity.
  • Recommend SKU rationalization actions (deletions, consolidations).
  • Support NPD, Engineering, and Sales teams with data for product strategy decisions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory planning, or data analytics (distribution environment preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with expert-level proficiency in Excel, BI tools, and ERP systems (P21 experience a plus).
  • Ability to interpret large data sets and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence others.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Success Metrics
