Job description

About the role:

As a Senior Supplier Performance Engineer - Mechanical you will support fabrication of electro-mechanical components at supplier facilities. You will report to the Manager, I&C Supplier Performance and work remote. 100% Remote Role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform On-site and Remote supplier oversight activities to ensure Westinghouse technical and quality requirements are achieved.

  • Develop and implement Supplier Oversight Plans to guide on-time completion of critical document submittals and manufacturing activities.

  • Identify and escalate supplier risks. Drive prompt resolution of issues by issuing communications and coordinating activities with all partners.

  • Monitor supplier performance metrics, such as On-Time Delivery, Quality issues, and Deviation Notices, for assigned suppliers. This monitoring helps to identify negative performance trends. Implement Causal Analysis (RCA), Corrective & Preventive Actions, and Supplier Improvement Plans to reduce issues.

  • Evaluate procurement (supplier) risk, soliciting partner input, and using tools to develop security of Supply Risk Mitigation Plans.

  • Provide regular progress reports to the team Partners (Project Manager, Program Director) and the SPE Leadership team

  • Perform Technical Evaluations of our suppliers to assess manufacturing capability, capacity, process controls, compliance with applicable regulations, codes & standards, and any associated risks.

  • Identify gaps between supplier capabilities and Westinghouse Technical / Quality requirements to establish and implement Development Plans.

  • Lead Supplier Development and Qualification activities, Supplier Improvement projects, and Cost Reduction efforts.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical/Material Engineering or similar

  • 4+ years of progressive experience in Engineering/Manufacturing.

  • Knowledge in manufacturing processes: electromechanical assembly, printed circuit boards, cable assemblies and harnesses, electrical cabinets, sensors, molding, testing, and inspection.

  • Experience performing Supplier Evaluation/Qualification.

  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans (Inspection and Test Plans), PFMEAs.

  • Project Management Experience: leading multiple, concurrent, projects.

  • Familiarity and experience with IPC / IEEE / ASME standards (norms, codes, technical specifications, drawings).

  • IPC or NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Certifications preferred.

  • Experience with nuclear products and standards desired.

  • 30% travel domestic and internationally is expected
