Job description

Network Administrator (Grandview Location)
The Network Administrator is responsible for the administration, optimization, security, and support of the organization's wired and wireless network infrastructure across multiple locations at Church of the Highlands ("Highlands") and Highlands College.
This mid-level role operates with limited supervision, independently handling day-to-day network responsibilities while collaborating with senior team members on design decisions, escalations, and larger initiatives. The Network Administrator plays an important role in maintaining the reliability, security, and performance of network services that support ministry operations, staff, students, and weekend experiences.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
  • 3+ years of enterprise network administration experience, preferably in a multi-site environment.
  • Experience administering enterprise-class switching and network management platforms.
  • Experience supporting enterprise wireless environments, including access point deployment, RF design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience administering enterprise firewall and network security technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, network authentication, and related networking standards.
  • Experience supporting multi-site WAN connectivity, redundancy, and failover solutions.
  • Experience troubleshooting connectivity issues and working with telecommunications and internet service providers.
  • Experience leading network projects or serving as a technical lead.
  • Strong documentation, communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Administer, configure, monitor, and support enterprise wired and wireless networks across multiple locations.
  • Maintain network switching, routing, wireless, security, and connectivity services in accordance with established organizational standards.
  • Monitor network health, capacity, availability, and performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex wired, wireless, and WAN connectivity issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, configuration management, and lifecycle planning for network infrastructure.
  • Support enterprise wireless environments, including deployment, optimization, performance analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Support network authentication, access control, segmentation, and security technologies according to established standards and best practices.
  • Administer and support core network services necessary for reliable connectivity across the organization.
  • Maintain accurate internal network documentation and configuration records.
  • Support connectivity between organizational locations and coordinate troubleshooting and escalations with service providers when necessary.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of network infrastructure projects, upgrades, and new locations.
  • Collaborate with other technology team members to maintain secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure.
  • Follow established security, change-management, documentation, and operational procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve network reliability, security, performance, and operational efficiency.
