Job description

Kenny Electric, established in 1974, is a leading Industrial and Commercial electrical contractor with a diverse portfolio of project work. Purpose: The Superintendent II is responsible for leading, directing, and controlling the work of the project crew to ensure customer satisfaction; oversees and coordinates General Foremen.
Essential Duties include the following:
  • Manages and leads crews on projects from $3.5M to $5.5M
  • Oversees a team of two or more supervisors and manages a workforce of 15-35 employees
  • Provides instruction to Journeymen and Apprentices regarding assignments and obtains progress feedback
  • Ensures crew compliance with policies and holds them accountable for performance
  • Communicates with Foremen, Journeymen and Apprentices to help remove roadblocks
  • Communicates with General Contractors, Supervisors, and other trades on frequent basis regarding the progress and coordination of the project to ensure the most efficient installation of electrical equipment possible
  • Keeps Project Manager and Operations leadership informed of all changes or impacts to project
  • Orders material to be delivered to jobsite to ensure installations are completed on time
  • Studies and evaluates blueprints and spec book as well as tracking project changes and as-builds
  • Identifies and implements all prefab opportunities
  • Be involved in all job-related contractor meetings
  • Assists the Project Manager with financials as needed
  • Reviews and accounts for project tasking and reporting
  • Reviews and accounts for QA/QC and installations to current NEC compliance
  • Oversees project Foremen and provides guidance and leadership for their development
  • Completes required subordinate evaluations and provides timely and appropriate feedback
  • Mentors and trains direct reports, identifying potential future leaders with HR.
  • Ensures that all safety training is completed and properly documented
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Hold current Journeyman or Master Electrician license
  • Ten years of documented work in electrical construction
  • Completed two or more projects from start-up to completion as a Foreman or any level of Supervisor
  • Demonstrated understanding of Field Superintendent duties, responsibilities, and expectations based on the size and type of construction project
  • Extensive experience in wiring systems, all phases of project installation, electrical control work, troubleshooting, and purchasing of electrical material and parts
  • Knowledge of current NEC and industry-related practices, including area classifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, assertive problem-solving ability, and adherence to professional conduct in addressing issues with appropriate parties
  • Effective time management skills, adaptability to different project sizes, and availability for overtime or irregular business hours as needed
  • Ability to supervise, evaluate and develop Supervisors, Foremen, Journeymen and Apprentices
  • Proven quality electrician installation and mechanical abilities
  • Ability to manage and understand project budgets in collaboration with the Project Manager
  • OSHA 30 Certification and current First Aid/CPR Certification

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts and elevated platforms (electric or gas powered)
  • Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other safe work areas
  • Able to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces and attics
  • Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
  • Able to carry tools and materials up to 50 pounds from the ground to overhead
  • Able to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overhead
  • Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
  • Able to get to customer job sites

Work Environment: Able to work in all elements, depending on job locations and time of year
