Job description

HB Rentals, a Superior Energy Services company, is a premier supplier of offshore and onshore housing and related equipment for the oil and gas industry. Since 1980, we have provided safe, reliable products to make living on the job an easier, more comfortable experience.
We are currently looking for a Technical Designer to join our team in Broussard, LA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Receives specifications for design and prepares initial drawing for review.
  • Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
  • Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
  • Makes any adjustments or changes necessary or desired.
  • Inks in lines and letters on pencil drawings as required.
  • Draws charts for representation of statistical data.
  • Draws finished designs from sketches.
  • Uses computer assisted drafting equipment software CAD and Solidworks.
  • Ensures full awareness of, and compliance with, the requirements of all relevant company/customer HSE handbooks, HSE procedures and emergency procedures.
  • Performs any other delegated duties considered appropriate in order to maintain the efficient running of the department.

Education/Experience:
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a related field preferred.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Solidworks, Inventor. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Project Management.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
