Job description

Description:

Superior Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing, Inc. is a trusted statewide provider of skilled trade construction supporting commercial new construction, tenant improvements, and 24/7 emergency services for our clients. The Retail Electrical Estimator plays a key role in developing accurate, competitive cost estimates for TI and new construction electrical installation projects. This individual will analyze plans and specifications, perform material and labor take-offs, and collaborate with project managers, and the internal purchasing department to prepare comprehensive bids.


Work Location Requirement

This position is on-site at the corporate office and is not available as a remote or hybrid role. Candidates must be able to work from the office during standard business hours.


Scope of Responsibilities

  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine scope, bid strategy, and estimate requirements
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for electrical systems, materials, equipment, and labor (e.g., conduit, wire, panels, devices, lighting, switchgear)
  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and proposals for commercial electrical projects
  • Ensure estimates align with company standards, industry best practices, and applicable codes and regulations
  • Participate in project meetings and provide estimating input during preconstruction and planning phases
  • Maintain current knowledge of electrical industry trends, material pricing, labor factors, and emerging technologies
Requirements:
  • Minimum of three years of retail electrical estimating experience, with a solid understanding of electrical materials and methods of installation
  • Ability to interpret refrigeration, mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and/or structural plans and specifications related to electrical installation
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical materials and methods of installation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, SureCount, Autodesk, Intellibid, and/or EBM preferred
