Job description

The Role

The Superintendent is responsible for promoting and ensuring site safety, schedule, and a comprehensive knowledge for the day to day field operations for their assigned project(s) including planning, coordinating, sequencing work, procurement of materials, and supervising subcontractors and vendors to ensure the work is completed on time, within budget, while adhering to Willmeng's quality standards.

What you will accomplish

  • Coordinate all daily operations, forecasting next steps, and maintaining jobsite and equipment readiness.
  • Monitor and track Assistant Superintendent/Field Engineer activities to ensure smooth progress.
  • Create and manage schedules, including the 3-week look ahead schedule and visual management plans, to coordinate and track effective phasing coordination and schedule progress.
  • Hold effective and relevant meetings with subcontractors, such as weekly meetings, daily huddles, and last planner (pull planning) sessions.
  • Take responsibility for OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meeting requirements and actively participate in interactions with owners, design teams, and municipalities.
  • Ensure project budgets are meticulously managed to deliver projected profits and identify gain opportunities throughout the project's duration.
  • Facilitate seamless interactions among internal tradesmen, owners, architects, and general contractors.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of a group of employees and delegate responsibilities effectively.
  • Review construction documents for completeness and constructability.
  • Generate and manage RFI's (Request for Information) as needed.
  • Collaborate with inspection authorities for approvals and resolve construction-related issues.
  • Performed skilled workmanship when applicable.ย
