Position Title

Field Support Superintendent (Salary range $93,600.00 to $114,400.00)

Reports To

Superintendent/ Project Manager

Position Summary

Provides experienced field leadership across multiple projects, ensuring continuity, safety, quality, and production when additional support is needed. This role serves as a key resource to project teams by stepping into active projects, covering superintendent responsibilities during planned and unplanned absences, assisting with project challenges, and supporting successful project execution across the organization.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, highly organized, and capable of quickly integrating into different project teams while maintaining company standards for safety, quality, scheduling, and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities

  • Provide field leadership and superintendent coverage across multiple projects as operational needs require.
  • Maintain project continuity during superintendent vacations, leave, or other absences.
  • Lead daily field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans and specifications.
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies, conduct jobsite safety observations, facilitate safety meetings, and document safety-related activities.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain project schedules and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain short-term and look-ahead schedules to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve field issues that could impact safety, quality, cost, or schedule.
  • Ensure subcontractors perform work in accordance with contract requirements, project documents, and company quality standards.
  • Conduct quality control inspections, develop punch lists, and verify completion of corrective work.
  • Maintain effective communication with project managers, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage project documentation, including daily reports, safety records, schedules, invoices, timesheets, shop drawings, as-builts, and project correspondence.
  • Assist with workforce planning and resource allocation to support project staffing and jobsite coverage needs.
  • Support project startup, transitions, closeout activities, and special assignments as needed.
  • Mentor field personnel and promote teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
  • Maintain a positive jobsite culture while effectively managing conflicts, customer concerns, and project challenges.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will supervise subcontractors, vendors, laborers, and carpenters as required to ensure adequate manpower is available for each task and compliant work is performed.

Hiring Requirements/Preferences
  • Proven experience as a Superintendent or Senior Field Leader in commercial construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, scheduling, safety, and quality control.
  • Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Proficient with Procore. HH2 software experience preferred.
  • Proficient at reading blueprints.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between project sites.
