Bauer's accommodates individuals, corporations, educational facilities, government agencies, and even airports, with one of the largest fleets in America— over 150 luxury vehicles — from state-of–the-art eco-luxury business shuttles to black car & VIP services. Bauer's is looking for a director who embodies their culture and will help us rapidly grow and manage a world class team. The ideal candidate will contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels to cultivate an amazing and innovative culture.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead teams through people issues and people programs (compensation, talent development, performance, background checks, regulatory compliance etc.).
  • Advise leadership on people related strategy and decisions (including organizational design, planning, and compensation).
  • Provide expertise in development and execution, planning, and facilitation of employee relations efforts.
  • Collaborate to develop company-wide strategies and programs based on data insights. • Leads efforts to foster a culture of diversity and inclusion across the business.
  • Ability to influence, lead change and role model positive behaviors that drive business performance.
  • Design and deliver targeted solutions, including strategic planning, visioning, change management and team building.
  • Provides guidance for compliance with regulatory agencies, e.g., EEOC, OSHA. • Continuous improvement and automation of HR processes such as staffing, on-boarding, development, etc.
  • Deliver appropriate coaching and development feedback to managers and employees. • Work with legal team to solve employee relation issues.


Skills:

  • Prefer 5+ years’ experience in the trucking/transportation industry • PHR/SPHR certification a plus.
  • Broad knowledge of human resource process administration and applicable government laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of D.O.T. inspection standards
  • Strong desire to help others and intellectual curiosity about people and organization issues. • Effective influencer, communication, and interpersonal skills; great listener.
  • Excellent problem solving capabilities and judgment; ability to make sound decisions independently.
  • Exceptional consulting, coaching and facilitation skills.
  • Analytically driven; fluent with data-driven analysis.
  • Demonstrated project management/change management skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a constantly changing environment.
  • Experience helping organizations scale required.
  • BA/BS required


Technical Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (Super user with ADP)
  • Knowledge of California employment law; Experience working in a union environment; Proficient in Microsoft Suite and ADP.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
