Got an immediate opening on a local bakery fleet for a driver who needs to be home every single day. If you want a job where you stay moving doing a mix of short-distance shuttle runs and moving trailers around the yard instead of just staring at the highway all day, this is a solid spot.
The schedule on this account is super tight because the bakery relies on these trailers to keep running. Because of that, they can't take trainees- you have to be ready to handle the route completely on your own from day one.
The Pay & Work Criteria
Hourly Rate: You start out at a flat $21.50 an hour.
Extra Cash: You get an extra $45.00 unload pay for every single stop you finish.
Weekly Average: Most guys on this fleet average a steady $1,300 gross every week.
The Route: You are just running short 7-mile shuttle loops back and forth between the bakery plant and the distribution center.
This is an active, physical job. You will be shifting trailers in the yard and making sure everything is locked down and sealed. When things get slow, you might do a quick local store delivery to keep your hours up. You'll be handling live loads and full hand-unloads, using a liftgate to roll out bread trays and delivery carts.
Home Time & Schedule
Home Daily: 100% Home Daily. You clock out and go home to your own bed after every shift.
The Shift: This is a dedicated NIGHT SHIFT run, so you need to be completely fine with driving in the dark and backing into tighter spaces at night.
Days Off: Weekend work is standard. When you first start, your two days off might be split up, but as you get more seniority, you can bid on consecutive days off. If you want extra hours, extra shifts are pretty much always available.
Holidays & Parking: You get Thanksgiving and Christmas Day completely off. Plus, they have secure onsite parking for both your personal car and your truck.
Requirements
Hiring Radius: You just need to live within 50 miles of the terminal hub (Zip Code: 85043).
Experience Tracks: No trainees on this one. You need at least 6 months of OTR in the last year, or 12 months of OTR in the past 5 years. Local Class A driving or yard hostling experience counts directly toward this.
Credentials: Valid Class A CDL and a current DOT Medical Card.
Background Check: No more than 4 driving jobs in the last 12 months, and your record needs to be clear of major preventable accidents for the past 5 years.
Screening: Must pass a mandatory hair and urine drug screen.
Not SAP Friendly.
The Benefits
You get full corporate benefits (medical, dental, vision) and a matching 401(k) plan after 60 days. There is also paid time off and 24/7 dispatch support if you ever need anything on shift.
