 Position Summary:SUNY Ulster, a two-year branch of the State University of New York located ninety miles north of New York City in the Catskill Mountains, is currently accepting applications for a Program Coordinator: CASAC, Allied Health, and Heath Care.
The Program Coordinator – CASAC, Allied Health and Health Care is a visionary education leader that works with students, Instructors, and employers to create stackable career pathways that serve the students, the employers and the College.  By working with multiple academic departments, sometimes across institutions, the Program Coordinator will lead SUNY Ulster to be a student-centered, innovative leader in the development and implementation of stackable pathways to livable wage careers under the health care umbrella.
The successful candidate will be expected to program a variety of workforce training courses specifically aimed at the growth and economic development of Ulster County. These pathways will include but not be limited to internships, apprenticeships and industry credentials.  Course areas include but are not limited to Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counseling (CASAC), allied health, and health care. Individuals with an education in one or more of the programming areas are encouraged to apply as are those with a communications, education, English or business degree and those with project management experience.  Some evening hours will be required.  The Program Coordinator reports to the Assistant Dean of Workforce and Career Development. 
 Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and schedule courses based on local workforce reports and input from workforce partners
  • Set and manage program revenue targets
  • Market courses to businesses and members of the community using a variety of methods to reach all populations
  • Hire instructors to teach courses ensuring that instructor has the proper credentials
  • Evaluate courses for financial feasibility and academic integrity
  • Assess student learning in courses adjusting curriculum as needed to obtain desired learning outcomes
  • Identify and implement services to help students reach their education and career goals
  • Create and implement tracking system to collect employment data from students upon program completion.
  • Outreach to local employers to identify development training needed for incumbent workers
  • Apply for state or agency approvals and provide any certification and documentation necessary to both the student as well as the state or agency
  • Develop and track projections on revenues, FTE's and headcount for department budget
  • Generate reports as required by the college, federal and state agencies, including grant submission forms
  • Collaborate with credit program coordinators within the College that serve similar populations
  • Establish relationships with community agencies that support workforce programs
  • Support academic departments in new program exploration and curriculum development
  • Write grants and manage grant funds to support programs and initiatives that support students in workforce programs
  • Provide excellent customer service to students and instructors
  • Other duties as assigned
 Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 1-2 years of experience in planning projects from conception to completion, executing projects with set deadlines, managing time, and documenting results
  • Driver’s license and ability to meet with clients off campus
  • Excellent computer and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team

 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree human services, healthcare, communications, education, English, or business
  • Experience managing budgets and grants
  • Experience working healthcare or allied health fields

 Salary:An initial starting salary of $52,500 with an excellent benefits package. This position is contingent upon adequate funding.
 Additional InformationSUNY Ulster offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision, life insurance, NYS or SUNY TIAA Retirement Plan, SUNY Perks, tuition waivers, including dependent waivers, and tuition assistance.
 
In addition, OPAP-covered members receive, on an annual basis: 24 vacation days, 12 sick days, 6 personal days, and 12 holidays including 3 floating holidays.  In addition, the College is closed on the day prior to Thanksgiving, and between December 26 - January, 1, known as the Holiday Curtailment.
