Job description

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is looking for a Material Handler, Supply and Logistics, Property Disposal to support our government customer located in Kekaha, Kauai.
Under general supervision of the Property Management Supervisor, the individual will perform the functions of property, disposal, reutilization and storage tasks related to the Supply and Logistics Department at Pacific Missile Range Facilities (PMRF) and PMRF off-site locations, which include Makaha Ridge, Port Allen, Koke'e and Ford Island (Oahu).
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Specific assignments and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas:
  • Assist with property disposal, reutilization, and storage tasks while following established policies and procedures.
  • Receive and process all 0507 forms for property transfers and excess actions, and manage the storage of excess property, including coordinating monthly excess turn-in weeks.
  • Issue property for reutilization and receive items for long-term storage based on operational requirements.
  • Support reporting of excess materials and electronics to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).
  • Assist with preparing items for DLA contractor sales, escorting bidders, releasing property, and completing required documentation.
  • Load and ship excess property and scrap materials as required.
  • Perform basic operational tasks in MAXIMO, including data entry and property tracking to support accountability.
  • Operate material handling equipment after receiving proper training and guidance.
  • Maintain files and records related to property disposal and storage activities.
  • Keep office paperwork, excess yards, and storage warehouse areas neat and organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.
Office conditions are varied and include physical tasks including lifting, pushing or pulling between 25-50 pounds. Physical positions will include but not be limited to walking, standing and work requiring repeated stooping. The environment will include customer contact, in a confined work area, field assignments, sometimes in inclement weather including daily exposure to heat and sun glare. There is a general office, outdoor and warehouse environment with PMRF Off-site travel to additional warehouse locations.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess valid state driver's license.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • One (1) year of related experience
  • Customer service background is desirable.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized property disposal area, which is subject to internal and external inspections.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must work effectively with co-workers and customers.
  • Must be capable of operating material handling equipment.
  • Must possess the following PC skills: Word, Excel, and Outlook
REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Secret security clearance is required. (Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.)
