Job Overview:

The Director is responsible for overseeing operational compliance with all licensing terms, regulations, and contractual obligations as required under a new, soon-to-be-announced licensing agreement with a globally loved brand. This role offers an exciting opportunity to build a compliance program at PIM Brands from the ground up, while providing end to end oversight of compliance. Growth opportunities include program expansion to other key brand lines-of-business. Serving as the central compliance authority, the Director, working under the Legal Department umbrella, will partner with the Finance, Marketing, Creative R&D and Manufacturing teams, as a trusted cross functional overseer and collaborator. Executive communication skills are a must. This role cross-functions with internal teams to proactively manage deadlines, reporting requirements, and client/licensor standards, ensuring full compliance end to end, throughout the entire product lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings experience in a fast-paced Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) environment and is adept at anticipating compliance risks and driving timely, compliant execution. The ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, while organizing priorities and guiding others to do the same.

This role carries substantial responsibility and attention to detail, along with the ability to deliver strong and confident cross-functional leadership.

Job Responsibilities:

The Brand License Compliance Director will be responsible for three key areas of success:

Deadlines:

  • Reporting - Ensures timely and accurate completion of all required reporting; maintaining precise and well organized, internal records as well as responding to regular, licensor-required reporting requirements.
  • Payments - Manages payment obligations to meet contractual deadlines; partnering with Finance to pre-empt potential roadblocks.
  • Delivery - Oversee delivery commitments, including timelines, product accuracy, order fulfillment, and complaint resolution.

Quality Control:

  • Review quality standards in client/licensor agreements and translate them into actionable guidelines and controls for internal teams.
  • Monitor factory quality control and production, both domestic and international, while working with internal teams to ensure compliance meets client/licensor standards and approved specifications.
  • Manage documentation and independent auditing review related to quality approvals, testing results, and compliance reviews.

Royalty Payment Compliance:

  • Responsible for ensuring royalty payments are paid on time, in coordination with the Accounting team.
  • Discounts - Assisting in managing customer discount and rebate programs and ensuring credits against royalty payments as applicable.

Other:

  • Completely, understand and "live" the terms of the licensing agreement, especially deadlines and other highly exacting provisions. The Director will be responsible for serving as the internal subject matter expert of the licensing agreement, aiding in decision making and strategy development for the future product lifecycle.
  • Design, implement, and oversee compliance frameworks to support all programs related to the licensing agreement and ensure adherence to licensor's requirements.
  • Develop, document, and maintain internal compliance procedures aligned with licensor's standards.
  • Create, manage, and deliver compliance metrics, dashboards, reports, and executive presentations for senior leadership and licensor's reporting.
  • Develop and oversee communications and training to internal businesses.

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, audit, compliance or related fields, preferred

8+ years of brand license management experience

5+ years of compliance, audit or regulatory experience within the CPG industry

Experience in CPG and/or manufacturing environments

Developed and implemented compliance frameworks for licensing programs

Proven track record of creating internal compliance procedures aligned with licensor standards agreement

Strong knowledge of internal audits, legal, compliance, and auditing practices

Advanced ability to produce metrics, dashboards, reports, presentations for senior leadership and licensor

Proficiency with SAP S/4HANA, PowerPoint, and Power BI

Strong capability in synthesizing complex information into clear insights and actionable steps

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills

Solid financial acumen, including royalty management

High ethical standards with sound judgment and influence at all organizational levels

Demonstrated leadership and ability to enforce compliance and accountability

Strong influencing skills and executive presence/communication skills

Self-directed, with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills across all management levels

Ability to operate in situations of complexity and ambiguity while functioning at a high level of productivity in a fast paced and dynamic environment

Requires travel up to 25% to Somerset, New Jersey, with occasional international travel (Spain)

Worksite:

The PIM Brands Global Headquarters in Park Ridge, New Jersey

The role requires working on-site: Monday through Friday. Work remotely once per month on a Friday

Summer Fridays between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend

The pay range for this position is $180,000.00 - $200,000.00.
