POSITION DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATION
POSITION TITLE: Production & Customer Operations Specialist DATE: July 2026
FLSA STATUS: Exempt DEPT: Manufacturing
LOC: North Carolina TRAVEL: Varies
POSITION SUMMARY: The Production & Customer Operations Specialist reports to the Director of Manufacturing and is responsible for coordinating customer requirements with internal production planning activities; manages ERP data for assigned customers; aligns customer demand with manufacturing schedules; supports quoting and proposal efforts through data gathering and cross-functional coordination; serves as the primary operational liaison between customers, sales, and manufacturing to ensure accurate schedule alignment, documentation control, and timely communication of order status; supports on-time delivery performance and customer satisfaction; operates in compliance with company safety practices; and performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Coordinates customer orders from receipt through completion to ensure alignment with manufacturing schedules.
  2. Enters, maintains, and updates ERP system data for assigned customers and projects.
  3. Owns customer production schedules and aligns internal capacity to support delivery commitments.
  4. Communicates schedule changes, priorities, and risks to internal departments and customers.
  5. Develops and maintains project tracking tools to monitor progress and delivery performance.
  6. Assists with preparation of quotes and proposals by gathering cost, schedule, and technical data as required.
  7. Supports production planning activities to meet customer demand and capacity requirements.
  8. Monitors order status and proactively identify and escalates potential delivery issues.
  9. Maintains customer portals, documentation, and reporting requirements.
  10. Participate in Sales and Production meetings to communicate schedule status and workload alignment.
  11. Interfaces with customers and vendors as needed to coordinate order requirements and resolve issues (limited travel as required).
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  1. Three to six (3-6) years of experience in manufacturing coordination, production planning, supply chain, or customer operations.
  2. Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, operations, or related field preferred.
  3. Experience working within an ERP system in a manufacturing environment.
  4. Demonstrated experience coordinating customer schedules with production capacity.
  5. Strong understanding of production control principles.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  7. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  8. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  10. Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform office and clerical duties including use of office tools.
Working Environment: The working environment is corporate office facility. Daily contact with employees in other departments is required.
