The Club provides a four-season experience with recreation, dining, wellness, and outdoor adventure woven into every aspect of daily life. Martis Camp isn't just a place to work, it's a place to belong, contribute, and be part of something truly remarkable.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lake Club Valet is the first point of contact, and first impression, in delivering "The Martis Experience" to our membership at the Lake Club. Primary duties associated with this position include: Meeting and greeting members, extended family, and guests on the driveway; a seamless handoff using Names to the Concierge/Host or Management Team. The safe and efficient parking of vehicles both on-site, and at our off-site parking lot across the road, and logging the position of the vehicle with our Lake Club Valet Software using a tablet. When not manning The Valet Host Stand, secondary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, communicating effectively with co-workers via radio and in person; maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe work environment, and assisting in other areas of the Lake Club as needed. The Lake Club Valet will also seek opportunities to create memories by anticipating needs, exceeding expectations, and building relationships and rapport with our Membership in a formal and respectful manner. Our Valet Team consists of multiple part-time (1-4 shifts per week) positions (Mid-June to late September), and the work schedule includes weekends and holidays. The operating hours vary but could be from 8am-7pm, shift length normally 8 hours.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Display a superior service attitude and presentation, understanding that positive interactions, a "can do" attitude, and the anticipation of needs is our guiding philosophy in providing "the member experience"
  • Greet all Members, Extended Family and Guests, attending to, and anticipating their needs.
  • Open and close doors on all vehicles as they arrive and depart, starting with the driver door (unless female occupants are present, in which case you will get those doors first) as you greet the Members, Extended Family & Guests
  • Prioritize the parking, and staging, of vehicles, using reservation times and radio communication from your Management, Concierge, Beach Attendant and Food & Beverage colleagues
  • Assist in game/beach set up and break down at either end of the day, where and when your colleagues need assistance and your primary responsibilities and time permit
  • Assist in the setting up, and putting away of, all Kayaks, SUP's, and equipment, where and when your colleagues need assistance and your primary responsibilities and time permit
  • Maintain an accurate electronic Log of where Member, Extended Family & Guest Vehicles have been parked, with Name, time in/out, description and color/brand/model for each patron
  • Comply with all Martis Camp standards and regulations to ensure a Safe Lake Club operation
  • Safety is the single most important part or your role, display Slow & Cautious driving at all times
  • Go out onto the busy road to proactively help vehicles safely depart the facility from our exit
  • Keep "the member experience" in mind when making all decisions
  • Be part of a Team environment that crosses a multitude of hospitality disciplines
  • Keep the Lake Club clean and litter free. It is everyone's responsibility, not just housekeeping
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Martis Camp standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary by day of the week at certain times through the season
  • Assist your Beach Attendant/Food & Beverage colleagues where their needs as your time permits
  • Check-in with your Beach Attendant colleagues regularly to see if you can get a jump on a vehicle leaving earlier than expected. Anticipation rather than perspiration is a Valet win
  • Assist in running beachgoers to/from their boats in a Dinghy w/outboard motor if Beach Attendants are tied up with other duties (training provided)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and take a commanding presence at the front entrance, Valet area, parking lot, and other areas, to ensure the safety of all beachgoers
  • Perform other duties as required by your manager

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3 Years of driving experience, with a Clean Driving record (ability to drive manual preferred)
  • Ability to pass a Drug Test (excluding marijuana) and stand for up to 5 hours at a time
  • Ability to safely lift, carry and assist with member bags and sporting equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds over varying surfaces (asphalt, sand, indoor flooring) for up to 200 yards at a time
  • Ability to assist the membership in the transport of SUP's, Kayaks, Floating Docks and other watercraft and toys that may come with them i.e., E-Foils
  • Ability to grip, reach, push, and pull during games/beach set up and break down involving chaises, tables, cushions, and umbrellas
  • Ability to kneel and reach while adjusting lawn/beach equipment and umbrellas
  • Willingness to learn how to transport and use all watercraft safely and correctly
  • Ability to work evenings, holidays, and weekends
  • Exposure to outside inclement weather

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift and carry weights up to 50lbs, and to assist adults and small children
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, kneeling, bending, twisting, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, sitting, carrying, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting
  • Ability to swim
  • Communicate effectively with a commanding presence to ensure the safety of all beachgoers
  • Ability to work evenings, holidays, and weekends. Exposure to outside inclement weather conditions including summer sun.
