Project Management Intern - Summer 2026
Department: Engineering
Employment Type: Internship
Location: US - Indiana - Fort Wayne
Reporting To: Seth Heyde
Description
The Project Management Intern is an engineering focused position that will contribute to the creation, detailing, and documentation of engineering and cross functional New Product Development or Productivity processes to improve project execution and reduce design, financial, and timeline risk.
Key Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create common tool and process instruction formats for New Product Developments
  • Update current documentation to new format
  • Create and update PDP Process Workflows and documentation systems to a common format.
  • Create lean tools and processes for creating future new documents and workflows for easy maintenance.
  • Work with engineering and other cross functional teams to develop and detail sub-process process workflows specific to New Product Development activities and stage gates.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

  • Highly organized with the ability to distill complex tasksdown to imperative actions for others to follow

  • Works effectively with cross functional teams including both technical and commercial resources.
  • Ability to collect and organize data for use and analysis by others and yourself.
  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Utilizes common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Effectively communicates information and responds to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with other employees of the organization.
  • Reads & understands documents such as work instructions and process maps.
  • Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.

Education and Experience
  • Working toward bachelor's degree in an engineering field or Project Management.
  • Sophomore status (by date of hire) in college or higher

Computer Skills
  • Intermediate: Databases, spreadsheets, Microsoft Visio (optional), Microsoft Outlook (optional)
  • Basic: Word processing/Microsoft Word and typing, presentation/Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel.
