Overview
Every operating room resonates with its own unique rhythm - a harmonious blend of precision, collaboration, and heartfelt communication. As a Physician Assistant specializing in surgery, you understand the pivotal role you play: not only in the operating theater but also by the bedside, during aftercare, and behind the scenes where true healing commences.
We invite a committed, meticulous PA to join our surgical services team in a full-time capacity. Here, you will partner closely with elite surgeons and empathetic nurses, ensuring that each patient's surgical journey is smooth, supported, and primarily focused on their well-being. Job Description
  • Perform thorough patient evaluations, including physical exams and comprehensive assessments of medical histories
  • Assist in assessing and diagnosing surgical conditions through analysis of imaging results and lab findings
  • Work hand-in-hand with surgeons to develop and implement individualized surgical treatment strategies
  • Provide vital intraoperative assistance, including preparing the operating rooms, ensuring optimal patient positioning, and efficiently transferring surgical instruments
  • Offer outstanding pre- and post-operative care, encompassing medication management, wound care, discharge planning, and educating patients
Education
  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Clinical rotation completion with a focus on surgery is highly preferred
Certifications
  • Current unrestricted PA-C certification
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of surgical principles and sterile procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate diagnostic tests and contribute to complex clinical choices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient at thriving under pressure, especially within surgical scenarios
  • Empathetic bedside manner with a profound respect for patients' dignity and independence
Benefits
  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives
  • Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision)
  • Generous PTO and CME reimbursement
  • Collaborative team environment with access to advanced equipment and resources
  • Opportunities for career growth in a dynamic, expanding healthcare setting

Your Role in the Surgical Experience
Being a Surgical Physician Assistant transcends technical capabilities - it's about approaching challenges with poised clarity when the unexpected occurs and providing comfort when a patient's anxiety outweighs their optimism. You will be actively involved in surgeries, yet also a calming presence in the corridors, explaining diagnoses, supporting families, and guiding patients as they navigate their recovery journey.
Your collaboration will span from minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures to complex inpatient surgeries. However, your impact will resonate post-operatively as well - in wound assessments, discussions about recovery, and long-term care planning. Your insights are instrumental. Your clinical judgment is valued. Your voice holds significance in choices great and small.
This is a supportive community that values your perspective, realizing that every successful surgical outcome is a collective endeavor - built on trust, humility, and unwavering care.
Rhythms of Milwaukee: A City Full of Life and Culture
Once you leave the hospital, you'll discover a city that doesn't merely exist - it thrives. Welcome to Milwaukee, where the shores of Lake Michigan invite adventure, and the vibrant arts scene blends history with modern innovation.
Spend a leisurely weekend exploring the beautiful Lakefront, or immerse yourself in the eclectic neighborhoods filled with unique shops and local eateries. Savor the rich culinary tapestry, from award-winning breweries serving world-class craft beers to an array of restaurants offering every flavor imaginable. Here, the community is as warm as the summer sun, with genuine interactions flowing as easily as the local music on any given night.
With the convenience of no state income tax paired with a flourishing job market, your earnings can stretch further while you enjoy a balanced life like no other. Milwaukee isn't just a workplace - it's a canvas for designing a life full of passion.
Whether you seek modern city living with skyline vistas or a cozy home nestled in a quiet neighborhood, there's a place waiting just for you. The music? Unforgettable. The food? A delightful showcase of local talent and innovative cuisine. And the people? A beautiful blend of dreamers, achievers, and everyone in between, making this a city that embraces diversity and camaraderie.
Who We're Seeking
We're in search of a Physician Assistant who rises to the occasion, thriving in high-acuity settings and taking immense pride in meticulous preparation. Someone who prioritizes listening before responding, supporting before directing, and learning just as consistently as they teach.
You could be in the early chapters of your surgical career or a seasoned professional with extensive intraoperative experience - regardless, we prioritize your character over your credentials. If you possess a keen intellect, a steady hand, and an authentic passion for healing, you'll find home here.
Join Us Where Precision Meets Purpose
This role is not simply a job. It's a calling - to assist individuals in regaining their strength, restoring their movement, and returning to life with renewed vigor.
Become part of a team where every contribution is honored, every success is celebrated, and every patient is valued beyond a diagnosis. If you're eager to bring your surgical acumen to a region that cherishes clinical excellence alongside human connection, we can't wait to welcome you aboard.
