Job description

The Summer Accelerated Theater Teacher will deliver engaging instruction in fundamental theatrical concepts, including script analysis, scene study, improvisation, and physical expression, while guiding students in monologue and ensemble work to build performance skills and confidence. The teacher will also introduce technical theater basics, such as stage lighting and sound design, and their role in storytelling, foster creativity, collaboration, and communication in a supportive, high-expectations environment, maintain accurate records of attendance and student progress, and hold daily office hours to provide additional academic support as needed.

Requirements:
Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate - Vocational Arts: Theater (4108) OR Instructional: Theater (1451)

Dates: July 6, 2026 - August 14, 2026
Monday - Friday 8:30am 12:30pm for 0.5 credit course (Theater)
Location: Parsippany High School
Compensation: One teacher per course, $45.00 per hour, not to exceed $4,500 for a 0.5 credit course (Theater).
Total number of teachers is dependent on student enrollment.
