Position Summary
The Lead Recreation Attendant supports the daily operation of the resort's recreation program while providing on-site leadership to the Recreation Attendant team. This role assists the Recreation Supervisor and Manager by assigning daily duties, serving as a resource and mentor to attendants, and helping ensure recreational activities are delivered safely, smoothly, and with a high level of guest satisfaction. The Lead Recreation Attendant works hands-on alongside the team and helps maintain a positive, organized, and guest-focused recreation environment.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Support
  • Serve as the primary on-shift resource for Recreation Attendants, providing guidance, direction, and support
  • Assist with assigning daily tasks and activity coverage to attendants based on schedules and operational needs
  • Model excellent guest service, professionalism, and safety awareness
  • Support training of new attendants and reinforce policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Communicate operational needs, concerns, or incidents to Recreation leadership

Recreation Operations
  • Monitor and operate the resort water slide and aquatic recreation areas to ensure guest safety and compliance with posted rules
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the pool deck and surrounding recreation areas
  • Oversee equipment use, rentals, inspections, and basic maintenance (bicycles, recreation gear, supplies)
  • Support and help lead arts and crafts activities, culturally inspired classes, and programs
  • Assist with guided nature hikes and outdoor recreational activities
  • Ensure proper setup, breakdown, and storage of recreation equipment and supplies

Guest Experience & Safety
  • Greet guests warmly and provide accurate information regarding recreation programs, schedules, and resort amenities
  • Respond appropriately to guest questions, concerns, or issues and escalate when necessary
  • Enforce safety procedures consistently and assist in emergency response as trained
  • Help ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment for guests of all ages
