Join American Structurepoint and become part of a team that goes the extra mile for our clients and communities. We live by our values - respect, staff development, results and family. Our team is encouraged to explore new ideas and turn our clients' dreams into reality. With exceptional benefits, training, and mentorship, we pave the way for a rewarding career. Ready for more than just a job? Explore opportunities with us and help improve the quality of life in the communities we serve.

American Structurepointโ€™s Road Group is seeking candidates to join us for our summer internship program in Cincinnati, OH! As a Road Intern, youโ€™ll work as part of a close-knit team on roadway projects for ODOT, cities, towns, and counties throughout Ohio. Most of your work will take place in the office, with occasional site visits, as you assist with quantity takeoffs, create construction plan sets using MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (ORD), prepare design documentation, and develop construction cost estimates. From large interstate and interchange projects to urban reconstructions, rural maintenance, and roundabouts, youโ€™ll gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of impactful transportation projects.

This is more than just an internshipโ€”itโ€™s your opportunity to build technical skills, explore your future in civil engineering, and help shape Ohioโ€™s infrastructure.

Why Intern with us:

  • Intern Day: A two-day celebration with all interns from across our design centers

  • Weekly Lunch & Learns: Learn about our different disciplines from real professionals

  • Mentorship & Career Growth: Gain experience and build lasting professional connections

  • Real Projects: Contribute to actual designs that impact your local community

  • Future Opportunities: Stand out and come back for another summer or full-time post-graduation

  • Scholarships & Networking: Exclusive opportunities and connections within the industry

What you will do:

  • Contribute to roadway design by working on design calculations, roadway layouts, drainage analysis, plan production, and quantity and cost estimates

  • Gain hands-on experience with 3D modeling and work with tools like MicroStation/GEOPAK, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Get involved in a wide variety of projectsโ€”everything from roundabouts and urban streets to rural roads, drainage improvements, and large interstate projects

  • Other duties as assigned

Who you are:

  • Student majoring in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Transportation, Hydraulics, or a related program with a focus on Civil Engineering

  • Reliable transportation to and from the office

  • Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, willingness to take on new challenges, and a collaborative mindset
