Director of Catering
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Director of Catering to oversee catering sales, event execution, and banquet partnerships, while ensuring profitable operations and creating unforgettable guest experiences. As an essential member of our leadership team, this role exemplifies our commitment to lead with love by inspiring associates, developing strong relationships with our group business, and ensuring every event is executed flawlessly and exceeds guest expectations.
The anticipated hire date for this position is late Summer 2026.
Salary Range - $80k - $95k
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead catering sales and event execution to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction.
  • Develop, manage, and grow group and key client accounts.
  • Oversee and support catering and banquet teams through hiring, training, and coaching.
  • Ensure seamless coordination across resort departments for successful events.
  • Manage budgets, pricing, forecasts, and reporting to drive profitable operations.
  • Uphold service standards, resolve guest concerns, and promote a positive associate culture.

What We're Looking For
  • Five years of Hotel Catering, Conference Services, or Sales Management experience preferred in a large (over 500 rooms) property.
  • Experience and proven success in developing, maintaining, and servicing group and local business, as well as special events, is required.
  • Ability to understand and effectively utilize above-average computer equipment and applications, to include but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, PMS, Delphi, catering, and event-related software.
  • Having a broad understanding of the tourism industry and the day-to-day operations of a hotel/resort is helpful.
