Description

Summary: As a Maintenance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in ensuring the efficient operation of production equipment, performing preventive maintenance tasks, and supporting our maintenance team with day-to-day activities. This internship offers an opportunity to develop technical skills, work alongside experienced professionals, and contribute to the overall success of the facility. This program lasts for 12 weeks during the summer months and offers competitive pay and key benefits such as relocation assistance, mentorship, training, social activities, and volunteer opportunities.


Potential Duties and Responsibilities:

Aid the maintenance team in performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on production equipment and machinery to ensure maximum efficiency and uptime.

Support the maintenance team in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues that arise in the production equipment.

Provide general assistance in maintaining the facility, including keeping work areas clean, organizing tools, and assisting in larger repair or renovation projects as needed.

Willingness to take direction from area supervision and follow that direction.

Continually demonstrates a productive and non-disruptive work ethic.

Follows all company safety rules as laid out in the company safety manual and all other company policies.

Maintain company equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly manner.

Perform other duties as assigned. 



Competencies:

Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems

Basic understanding of general maintenance processes and methods

Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills

Works well as team member

Able to follow orders of supervisor

Read blueprints and other technical documents

Have mechanical skills

Must be able to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in industrial environments


Education and/or Experience Preferred:

Currently enrolled undergraduate student studying maintenance, industrial technology, mechanical engineering, or other related field.
