Overview

Rock Springs Ranch is part of the Kansas 4-H Foundation, a non-profit organization. We strive to make the best better for all Kansas youth through leadership, educational and service opportunities. Rock Springs Ranch is located just outside of Junction City, KS. We are about 45 minutes from Manhattan, and two hours from both Kansas City and Wichita. During the summer we host a wide variety of camps and retreats including: Summer Camp, Family Reunions, Church Retreats, Specialty Camps and many more.

Established in 1946, Rock Springs has continued to grow along the way. Staff members come from a variety of backgrounds from around the state, country and world. If you are looking for an opportunity to grow and develop your skills in a fun and rewarding summer job, apply for this experience.

The Aquatics Lead is responsible for the safe & efficient operation of swimming pools, canoes, and kayaks. Also, responsible for supervising & evaluating other lifeguards to ensure that participants & staff are safe at all times. Current lifeguard certification is encouraged but not required. There is a lifeguard course available prior to summer, if needed.

Daily Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Camper Supervision
  • Lifeguarding
  • Lifeguard Supervision
  • Basic Pool Cleaning
  • Regular Chemical testing and logging
  • Collaborate with LGI on in-service planning

*Room and Board is provided at no additional throughout summer*

Important DatesLead Training (for all those hired into a leadership position):
  • May 15-19
Specialty Training (lifeguards, ropes, shooting, equestrian, etc.):
  • May 20-24
Staff Training (MANDATORY for all summer staff):
  • May 27-31
Summer Dates (half-week & week-long sessions):
  • June 2- July 16
Additional Work Opportunities (rental groups):
  • July 17- August 11
