Job Summary
Job Title: Summer School Wellness Counselor
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wellness Counselor to support students' social-emotional well-being during our 2026 summer school program. This in-person, on-campus position involves working 4 days per week from June 15 to July 16, 2026, with hours from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The Wellness Counselor will provide individual and group support, helping students navigate challenges and build resilience. Staff will also participate in 3 professional learning days the week before summer school begins: June 9- June 11, 2026
Key Details:
Schedule: 4 days a week for 5 weeks, June 15 - July 16, 2026.
Hours: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
Preparation: 3 paid professional learning days: June 9- June 11, 2026
Responsibilities:
Provide counseling and support to students addressing social-emotional and wellness needs.
Facilitate group sessions and activities to promote mental health, self-regulation, and resilience.
Collaborate with teachers, families, and educational partners to support student success.
Develop and implement strategies to foster a positive and supportive school environment.
Participate in professional learning days and contribute to a collaborative summer school community.
Qualifications:
Valid counseling certification or license.
Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
