Job Title: Assembler
Job Description

This role involves working either in the assembly department or the mulling department to build and prepare window units for installation. You will assemble components, apply weather stripping, and ensure tight seals using hand tools, or construct wooden frames using power tools and nail guns. The position requires standing for a full 10-hour shift in a fast-paced production environment, either on an assembly line or working independently, while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble window components and install weather stripping in the assembly department according to production specifications.
  • Use small hand tools to ensure seals are tight and windows meet quality standards.
  • Work on an assembly line, coordinating tasks with team members where each person relies on the work of the person before and after them.
  • Stand for the entire 10-hour shift while maintaining productivity and attention to detail.
  • In the mulling department, build wooden frames around windows so they are ready for installation in homes.
  • Operate power tools and nail guns safely and effectively to construct frames and complete assigned tasks.
  • Read and use a tape measure accurately to ensure proper measurements and fit of components.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of provided safety glasses and optional ear protection.
  • Assist with general production tasks such as packaging, packing, and handling materials as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and support overall production goals and timelines.
Essential Skills
  • At least 6+ months of previous experience in assembly, construction, landscaping, packaging, or general labor for assembly roles.
  • At least 6+ months of experience using hand tools for assembly roles.
  • At least 6+ months of experience in construction, carpentry, or industrial assembly for mulling roles.
  • At least 6+ months of experience using power tools for mulling roles.
  • Ability to read a tape measure (required for mulling and considered a plus for assembly).
  • Comfort working with hand and power tools, including nail guns.
  • Ability to stand for 10-hour shifts and perform repetitive tasks in a production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure tight seals and accurate frame construction.
  • Reliability and willingness to work the full scheduled hours, including Fridays as needed.

  • Experience in general production, general labor, or construction environments.
  • Background in packaging, packing, or other manufacturing roles.

Safety glasses are provided and required, and ear protection is provided but optional. The dress code requires closed-toe tennis shoes or work boots; steel-toed boots are not required. Shorts and cut-off shirts are not allowed, and jeans are required. Employees receive two paid 15-minute breaks and one unpaid 30-minute lunch break during each shift.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
