DESCRIPTION:
Cherokee Town & Country Club in Atlanta, GA is ready to hire a Summer Camp Counselor to assist with and engage in Child/Youth care and programming for youth activities in Family, Swim and Fitness (FSF) department including childcare, youth camps and family programming. Their primary responsibility is to provide a fun and safe experience for campers aged 3-12 yrs. of age.
As a Summer Camp Counselor, you will earn a competitive wage of $17.00-17.50/hour commensurate with experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SUMMER CAMP COUNSELOR:
You will Greet and interact with members and their children in a friendly and professional manner. Plan, lead, and engage children in activities that include organized games, swimming, and themed art projects. Maintain supervision of children at all times to ensure a safe and healthy environment with respect to sports equipment, other children and surroundings. Serve food for children during snack and mealtimes while maintaining a safe and sanitary eating environment. Resolve disputes between children as necessary. Provide daily camp recap to the Youth Activities Manager. Clean and maintain sports equipment and program areas by following the cleaning checklist and performing assigned cleaning tasks. Promote youth activity programs, services, and special events. Effectively communicate youth activity camp policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by Youth Activities Manager and/or Family, Swim & Fitness director.
SKILLS AND APTITUDE REQUIRED:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • organized, high attention to detail, and self-motivated.

EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
  • 6 mo.-1 yr. of experience working with young children in a camp setting.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification (Adult, Child, and Infant).
