Farm Credit East (FCE) is the leading provider of loans and farm advisory services to farm, forest product, fishing, and other agricultural business owners across the northeast. The Farm Credit cooperative has been around for over 100 years. Our 500+ team members are based in 23 offices across 8 states (CT, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VT). FCE serves over 18,000 customers with nearly $15 billion in loan volume and over $29 million in financial services revenue generated annually. As a Farm Credit East summer intern, you will work alongside our dynamic professionals and learn about all the services Farm Credit East offers to customers throughout the Northeast. Gain professional development skills and hands-on experience as you join our staff as they work with our customer-owners.

Interns are placed in marketplace locations throughout the Farm Credit East territory within one of the organization's regions. The internship position involves an overview of the organization by spending time in all the areas of services offered to customers including financial services, credit services and crop insurance. Interns will participate in customer visits and job shadow professionals and travel to different regions of the Farm Credit East territory on all-intern tips. Additionally, interns are assigned an organizational-wide strategic project to complete throughout the 10-week experience with a presentation to company leaders to conclude the experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned strategic project and present to executive leadership team
  • Learn about and complete assigned tasks in various departments within FCE: credit, tax and accounting, appraisal, crop insurance among others
  • Participate in customer visits and job shadowing opportunities
  • Be an active listener and communicate effectively 
  • Always maintains a positive and professional attitude
  • Travel to different regions within the FCE territory

Job Qualifications/Requirements

  • Students currently completing their junior year with expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture, Agri-Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business or a related field.
