Job description

Smartly is looking for a Corporate Communications Intern to join our Marketing team for Summer 2026. This role sits at the center of how Smartly shows up, internally and externally, and offers hands-on experience across corporate communications, public relations, and social media.

You'll work directly with the Senior Director of Global Communications and gain exposure to executive messaging, media relations, and global brand storytelling. This is an opportunity for someone interested in building a career in marketing, specifically communications, to contribute to meaningful work while learning how a modern communications function operates.

This is not a passive internship. You'll be expected to contribute ideas, support execution, and help keep high-impact initiatives organized and moving forward.

As a Corporate Communications Intern you will...

Corporate Communications

  • Support with internal, executive and corporate communications initiatives, including content for company-wide updates and messaging
  • Coordinate planning, timelines, and logistics for communications initiatives
  • Contribute to presentations, reports, and internal documentation

Public Relations & External Communications

  • Build and maintain media lists and conduct journalist research
  • Monitor news cycles, industry trends, and competitive activity
  • Support story development and brainstorm timely, relevant angles
  • Assist with press materials, including support for pitches and press releases
  • Help track media coverage and support reporting efforts

Social Media & Content

  • Support day-to-day management of Smartly's global social channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok)
  • Draft social copy and contribute to content creation across formats
  • Assist in developing content calendars and campaign ideas
  • Identify opportunities to amplify internal and external initiatives
  • Bring creative thinking to how Smartly shows up across platforms

Operations & Team Support

    • Help manage workflows, timelines, and organization across projects
    • Support reporting, documentation, and coordination across the communications function
    • Assist with ad hoc projects to keep initiatives on track and well-executed
What we're looking for...
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Interest in marketing, with a focus on communications, PR, or social media
  • Curious, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative
  • Creative thinker with an eye for storytelling and content
  • Strong communication skills: written, verbal, and presentation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and contribute where needed
What you'll gain ...
  • Direct exposure to corporate communications at a global company
  • Experience working across corporate comms, PR, and social media
  • Opportunity to contribute to real campaigns and initiatives
  • Mentorship and guidance from senior communications leadership
  • A strong foundation for a career in marketing and communications

This internship is paid at $20 per hour and will be approximately 30 hours per week between June 16th and August 20th of 2026.
