Overview:
We are actively searching for a Personal Injury Legal Assistant that has a wealth of experience in both pre-litigation and litigation phases. We value the expertise that comes with the many years that a seasoned Legal Assistant can bring. Your role will be pivotal, requiring proficiency in legal software, excellent communication skills, and a knack for time management. This full-time, onsite position is designed for a dedicated professional who is eager to be a dependable team member for our attorneys, contributing significantly to our collaborative efforts. Responsibilities
  • Scan/saved all incoming mail, emails and faxes.
  • Calendar all notices with respect to defense examination, depositions, arbitration, mediation dates and court notices
  • Send all notice letters to clients involving DME, depositions, arbitrations (when applicable), mediation and court appearances.
  • For depositions, arrange for court reporter and translator and/or videographer, if needed, when noticed by our office.
  • Confirm all attorney appearances the day before the event.
  • Obtain all medical Request narrative reports under the direction of the paralegal or attorney.
  • Compile and arrange all medical records in electronic file so they can be attached to Form A responses.
  • Draft cover letter for amendments and serve with attachments on defense.
  • Schedule Plaintiff Medical Exam (PME) and compile and send all relevant medical records and MRI films to PME doctor after attorney reviews.
  • Handle incoming calls along with Paralegal.
  • Handle funding requests.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant working on NY Personal Injury cases is required.
  • Can take direction via email and/or verbally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Windows/MS Office Applications including Outlook Calendar, Word, Excel.
  • Knowledge of Adobe PDF a plus
  • Past experience working on NY Personal Injury cases as an Administrative Assistant a plus

Compensation Range:
$50,000-$60,000 USD
Compensation: The base salary or hourly range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to; prior relevant experience, business needs and market factors. Additionally, salary wages are only part of the total compensation package.
