  • Consistent, part-time hours after school and on weekends.
  • Access to formal training and professional development opportunities to refine your teaching and leadership skills.
  • Top-notch curriculum materials with no lesson planning required.
  • All necessary instructional tools and resources provided.
What You’ll Do as a Mathnasium Instructor
  • Teach math to students in a semi-private setting (up to a 4:1 ratio) and one-on-one using the Mathnasium Method and curriculum.
  • Lead or support SAT, SHSAT, and Regents review instruction and test-prep coaching.
  • Guide students through customized learning plans to develop strong mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Help students improve test-taking strategies, pacing, and academic confidence.
  • Provide occasional homework support in alignment with Mathnasium teaching methods.
  • Track and assess student progress throughout instructional sessions.
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and high-energy learning environment.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families through professional communication.
  • Collaborate with team members and participate in ongoing training and development.
  • Complete administrative tasks as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
  • Exceptional math content knowledge and teaching ability, with competency through at least Algebra 2.
  • Strong understanding of SAT Math, SHSAT content, and/or NY Regents curriculum preferred.

  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • An energetic, patient, confident, and professional personality with a passion for inspiring students.
  • Ability to connect with students of varying ages, learning styles, and academic backgrounds.
  • Professionalism in interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Teaching certification is a plus, and prior Mathnasium experience is highly valued.
  • Must hold an undergraduate degree OR be a college junior/senior studying a STEM field (Math, Physics, Engineering, Computer/Data Science), quantitative field (Finance, Accounting), or education-related field.
Ideal Candidates

We are especially interested in candidates who:

  • Have scored highly on the SAT and/or have SHSAT experience.
  • Enjoy working with high-achieving students pursuing competitive academic goals.
  • Have experience teaching advanced learners, enrichment programs, or standardized test prep.
  • Are interested in mentorship, education, and long-term student growth.
  • Bring leadership potential and want to grow with an expanding educational organization.
