About This Role:

This is a part-time position designed for college students and entry-level professionals who are passionate in education and have the drive to grow into a future leader in education industry. The successful candidate will work alongside our Silicon Valley teaching team while also focusing on the operational aspects of our business.

You will have the resources to become a great math educatorย and provide world-class teaching services to PreK-6th graders of all levels. In order to foster a well-rounded leader in the education industry, this role will also give you the chance to participate in Think Academy's business functions including operations and marketing. This role is ideal for those wanting to become branch directors, department managers, and even a part of Think Academy's global expansion in emerging markets.ย

Job Responsibilities:ย 

  • Teach engaging lessons in English for elementary level mathematics to our students using Think Academy curriculum
    • Grade: PreK-G6
    • Language: English
    • Format: In-person
  • Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment that fosters a love of mathematics among a class of about 8-16 studentsย 
  • Identify and address individual learning needs by providing personalized assistance to students
  • Homework grading as well as other related key teaching services
  • Maintain open and proactive communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress, achievements, and areas of concern
    • Conduct parent-teacher conferences/meetings as needed to discuss student performance
    • Hold office hours and provide 1-on-1 help
  • Foster a safe and respectful learning atmosphere for all studentsย 
  • Develop tailored mathematical learning plans for students based on their current abilities and goals, facilitating their enrollment in short-term or long-term courses
  • Become education specialist in education field and support daily business operation as in marketing and business growth in the bay area

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Open to all majors- we provide training and professional growth!
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of math concepts and problem-solving techniques.
    • Prior math teaching or general teaching experience is not required, but it is highly preferred.ย 
  • Passionate about teaching and education industry, with a mission to provide better education to promote social development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.ย 
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology for instructional purposes.
  • Can commit to at least one whole semester teaching without interruption (Spring semester: Jan - May; Summer: June - Aug; Fall semester: Aug - Dec)
  • Responsible, reliable, and a team player to effectively collaborate with other teachers and staff.
  • Patient, empathetic, and motivated to inspire students.ย 
  • Available and willing to work during weekday later afternoon and weekends
  • You must be authorized to work in the United States
  • You must be able to commute to teach in-person at one of our San Jose Cupertino Campuses
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin highly preferred

Compensation & Benefits:
