What is a summer league?

A Summer League is an organized sports competition that takes place during the summer months, typically involving amateur or semi-professional teams and players. These leagues are common in sports like basketball, baseball, and soccer, providing athletes with opportunities to develop their skills, gain exposure, and stay in competitive shape during the offseason. Summer Leagues can be affiliated with professional organizations or be community-based, and they often feature a mix of young talent and experienced players. They are also popular scouting grounds for coaches and recruiters looking for emerging talent.

You may be responsible for tasks such as scheduling games, maintaining equipment, assisting with scorekeeping, and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of players. These positions are fast-paced and offer valuable experience in teamwork, communication, and sports management, which can support future opportunities in recreation or event planning.
