Job description

BB Living Overview
BB Living ("The Company"), founded in 2012, has been at the forefront of the rapidly growing single-family "build to rent" asset class since the beginning. The Company has grown from a niche investment driven by impacts of the Great Financial Crisis to a well-capitalized, highly attractive, stabilized business with a presence in the top markets and communities across the United States and a reputation as the leader in the "build to rent" asset class.
After successfully identifying the market demand for new, three (3) and four (4) bedroom rental homes, BB Living built 1,000 homes in Metro Phoenix between 2012-2018. In late 2018 BB Living partnered with a public homebuilder to expand the "build to rent" strategy nationwide. Through this partnership, BB Living has established itself as the best-in-class "build to rent" developer and operator, the preferred rental home provider of top master planned communities and developers across the country, with a presence in the fastest growing and most desirable markets throughout the US.
Leveraging our track record and vertically integrated team, The Company has elevated the quality of its portfolio relative to other single-family rental and "build to rent" operators. BB Living continues to grow, expanding its presence in new and existing markets through a robust acquisitions pipeline providing continued growth opportunities for The Company.
Opportunity Summary
BB Living is seeking a motivated and technically capable college intern to join our team for the summer of 2026. This internship sits at the intersection of data analytics and artificial intelligence, offering hands-on experience in a fast-paced real estate environment. The intern will work closely with our Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Investment Officer to analyze business data, build dashboards and reports, and develop AI-powered tools that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency across the organization.
This is an ideal opportunity for a student who wants to apply technical skills to real-world business challenges in the real estate and finance sectors, and who is excited about the potential of AI to transform how companies operate.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, prototype, and deploy AI-powered tools and workflows that automate or enhance existing business processes.
  • Explore applications of large language models (LLMs) and other AI technologies to areas such as cost analysis, lease analysis, document summarization, market research, and internal knowledge management.
  • Assist in cleaning, organizing, and analyzing datasets from multiple sources including historical costs, property management platforms (e.g., RealPage), MLS listings, and internal financial records.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators across the portfolio. Collaborate with department leads to identify pain points and opportunities where AI tools can deliver measurable value.
  • Document processes, create SOPs, and develop training materials for AI tools and data systems as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks, APIs, or platforms (e.g Anthropic Claude, OpenAI API, etc).
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Excel (advanced), SharePoint, and Power Platform. Foundational understanding of data analysis concepts, including data cleaning, statistical analysis, and visualization.
  • Experience with data engineering concepts such as ETL pipelines, database design, or cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS).
  • Interest in real estate, finance, or business operations and a desire to apply technical skills in these domains.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities in a small-team environment.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a closely related field.
  • Completed coursework or demonstrated experience in programming (Python, JavaScript, SQL, or similar languages).
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Coursework or personal projects involving real estate analytics, financial modeling, or investment analysis.
