Role Summary
Affiliated Faculty in Forensic Science serve as externally engaged academic professionals who contribute to the intellectual vitality, market relevance, and sustainability of University programs. This role is designed for accomplished professionals who maintain active engagement in industry, government, or applied research environments and who leverage those relationships to support high-quality teaching, enrollment growth, and workforce-aligned education.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
1. Instructional Contributions
  • Teach undergraduate courses in forensic science and the sciences integrating industry practices, tools, and ethical considerations.
  • Support applied learning experiences such as internships and capstone projects.
  • Advise and mentor students on career pathways, certifications, professional practice, and ethical leadership in technology.
  • Promote responsible and human-centered approaches to forensic science and the sciences.

2. Program Growth and Enrollment Support
  • Actively support student recruitment and enrollment growth through outreach, referral, and professional visibility.
  • Participate in informational sessions, open houses, webinars, or employer-facing events as requested.
  • Identify prospective students through professional networks and refer qualified candidates to admissions.

3. Serve as a University Ambassador
  • Identify potential leads for adjunct faculty and partnership opportunities.
  • Maintain a commitment to enrollment growth and program sustainability.
  • Engage in are considered core components of the affiliated faculty role.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to communicate the value of Rivier's academic programs, teach on-campus courses over the course of an academic year, support students through advising and internships, and participate in several on-campus recruitment and
enrollment related events.
This affiliated faculty appointment is designed for working professionals with hybrid or flexible work that allow for regular on-campus instruction and student engagement. Successful applicants will have an earned master's degree with a doctoral degree preferred. Compensation is based on credits taught, student internship supervision, and measurable contributions that enhance program visibility, brand awareness, and growth enrollment.
