POSITION SUMMARY:
Skoolie Squad wanted for opportunities in SoWashCo Community Education. Squad members will represent Community Education and SoWashCo CARES at community events. Squad members will drive district vehicles and coordinate activities and meals at summer playground programs for elementary students and community members at family fun nights.  Members will be dynamic and positive role models for participants while providing a safe environment and helping to develop skills in a variety of subject areas. This is a summer position.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Drive Community Ed vehicles to programming sites around the school district.
2. Assist with planning of program activities.
3. Responsible for coordinating programming at Skoolie summer sites.
4. Lead large and small group activities.
5. Set up and clean up of activity.
6. Set up and clean up of food service areas.
7. Assist community partners with programming needs
8. Responsible for behavior management.
9. Be a dynamic and positive role model for participants.
10. Ensure environment, equipment and/or supplies are safe and maintained.
11. Respond effectively to emergency situations.
12. Report any equipment, injury or safety issues to supervisor.
13. Communicate regularly with supervisor.
14. Other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
Required:
1. Background working with elementary students in a camp or school setting.
3. Ability to work effectively with a variety of age groups.
4. Effective communication skills with both youth and adults
5. First Aid and/or CPR training or ability to be trained
6. Ability to be flexible with work locations
7. Ability to work independently
6. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
7. Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
8. Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
9. Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.
