Description
Camp is Calling - Drummer / Percussion Worship Team Member
This isn't just a summer job-it's a ministry.
At Camp Timber-lee, your rhythm becomes part of something bigger. As a drummer on the Worship Team, you'll help shape powerful worship experiences that point campers toward Christ while using your musical gifts to build energy, connection, and meaning in every chapel service.
If you love drumming, thrive in live band settings, and want to use percussion to lead people into worship-not just keep time-this is your opportunity to make an eternal impact.
What You'll Do
  • Lead and support worship as the drummer/percussionist for chapel and camp services
  • Create strong, steady, and dynamic rhythm foundations for worship sets
  • Collaborate closely with vocalists, guitarists, bass, and keyboard players to shape cohesive worship experiences
  • Help prepare and rehearse worship sets, including transitions, tempo mapping, and dynamics
  • Use percussion creatively (drum kit and/or auxiliary percussion as needed) to enhance worship moments
  • Maintain care of drum equipment, percussion instruments, and stage setup
  • Build meaningful relationships with campers and model Christ-centered leadership
  • Support camper arrival/departure weekends and assist with general camp programming as needed

What You Get
  • $7.25 per hour + housing and meals included
  • Live on-site in a vibrant, faith-centered summer community
  • Hands-on worship leadership and ministry experience for your resume
  • Opportunities for spiritual, personal, and musical growth
  • A summer focused on purpose, mentorship, and Kingdom impact

Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • A professing Christian with a personal, active faith in Jesus
  • Strong drumming / percussion skills with experience playing in live band settings
  • Ability to lock in with a metronome, click track, or live worship band
  • Understanding of worship dynamics (soft playing, build-ups, transitions, energy control)
  • Team-first mindset with strong communication and humility
  • Comfortable praying with campers and engaging in gospel-centered conversations
  • Willingness to serve beyond music in a camp ministry environment
  • Interest in mentoring youth and investing relationally in campers
Summer Schedule
  • Staff Training: May 31 - June 13
  • Camp Sessions: June 14 - August 8
Important Role Details
  • This is a live-in, residential summer camp position
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old by hire date
  • Active participation in a Christian ministry environment is required
  • Offers are contingent upon successful background and reference checks
Why this role matters
This is more than keeping time. As a drummer on the Worship Team, you help set the emotional and spiritual foundation of worship. Your rhythm helps create space for campers to engage, reflect, and respond to God. Through consistency, sensitivity, and excellence, you'll help shape moments that campers carry long after summer ends-while growing in your own faith, leadership, and calling.
