This posting is for a part-time, non-benefited, non-exempt staff position for a day shift summer counselor.
Skills/Training or Other Specific Requirements
Need a referral from an expert in the horse industry. Work well with youth. Exhibit an outgoing personality.
Responsibilities
  • Aid rider with tacking up horse
  • Video taping
  • Work with an individual rider
  • Oversee feeding and stall cleaning
  • Assist with riding instruction

National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Competencies
Leadership: Horsemanship School Riding Counselor oversees the students during arena ride time and barn duties. Horsemanship School Riding Counselor is responsible for assisting the instructors and for ensuring the safety of the riders.
Teamwork/Collaboration: Horsemanship School Riding Counselor works with riding instructors to create an educational and learning experience for the youth equestrians. Horsemanship School Riding Counselor also works with other staff to facilitate the flow of the lessons and demonstrations.
