Hours: Afternoon (7:45AM to 12:15PM)
Position Open from June 8th thru July 31st
Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
• Assist students with personal hygiene, nutrition, comfort, and safety issues.
• Provide general/Emergent care to students as director or delegated by the Registered Nurse and building administration.
• Prepare and administer medication as directed by the student's physician
• Monitor students for allergic reactions and follow individual health care plans or district procedures
• Respond to health-related phone calls and parent questions
• Monitor and check for head lice when required
• Prepare and monitor health records
• Maintain daily Med Administration and daily nursing office visits in Infinite Campus
• Correspond with parents when appropriate
• Complete staff/student injury forms as needed
• Perform other service or clerical duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse or school administrator(s)
• Must be willing to attend trainings and complete trainings to assume the duties and responsibilities of the position yearly.
• Additional duties and responsibilities may include catheterization, tube feeding, use of electronic blood pressure equipment, use of a pulse oximeter, use of a peak flow meter and provide care to students needing medication such as diastatic, intranasal versed, glucagon, insulin, and epi-pen.
• Must hold the Infant/Child/Adult CPR certificate prior to start date and remain current
• Must hold a Mandatory Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Reporter Certificate prior to start date and remain current
• Per DHS Guidelines this Children's Village position requires a background check every two (2) years, FBI fingerprinting check every four (4) years, and completed Physical every three (3) years.
• Must complete Universal Precaution and Exposure Training prior to start date and remain current
• Must be willing to complete the training and obtain the Medication Administration Certificate and remain current
