Overall Job Summary

Tractor Supply Company is currently hiring for 2027 Legal Summer Internship Program at our Store Support Center located in Brentwood, TN!

The Legal Summer Internship is an 11-week program designed for law students interested in gaining hands-on experience within a corporate legal environment. Interns will work alongside experienced legal professionals and gain exposure to a variety of matters that support Tractor Supply's business operations.

Throughout the summer, interns may contribute to legal research, contract review, regulatory compliance, litigation support, policy development, and other corporate legal matters. The program provides an opportunity to strengthen legal research, analytical, and communication skills while developing a deeper understanding of how an in-house Legal team partners with the business to manage risk and support the nation's largest rural lifestyle retailer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
  • Legal Research & Analysis:Conduct legal research and analysis on matters related to contracts, employment, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and other areas of corporate law. 
  • Contract & Document Review: Assist with reviewing, summarizing, drafting, and managing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents. 
  • Compliance & Risk:Support initiatives designed to promote compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations while helping identify and mitigate potential legal risks. 
  • Policy Support:Assist with reviewing and updating company policies, procedures, and other legal resources. 
  • Litigation Support:Support litigation and dispute-related matters through research, document management, and preparation of relevant materials. 
  • Contract Management:Participate in contract drafting, review, and management processes. 
  • Legal Communication:Assist with preparing reports, presentations, and other materials that communicate legal information to internal stakeholders. 

 
 

Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited law school and pursuing a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. 
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and critical thinking skills. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Demonstrated interest in corporate law and gaining experience within an in-house legal environment. 
  • Ability to relocate to the Greater Nashville Area for the duration of the internship.
