The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area.  Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Summary

The Summer Camp Aide supports the daily operations of the school's summer camp program by assisting camp counselors and staff in providing a safe, engaging, and faith-centered environment for campers. The Summer Camp Aide helps supervise children, facilitate activities, promote positive behavior, and uphold the values and mission of the Catholic school.

Job Responsibilities
Camper Supervision and Support
  • Assist with the supervision and care of campers throughout the camp day.
  • Help ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Monitor camper behavior and encourage positive interactions among campers.
  • Escort campers between activities, classrooms, playgrounds, and other designated areas as needed.
Activity Assistance
  • Support camp counselors and staff in organizing and leading recreational, educational, arts and crafts, sports, and faith-based activities.
  • Prepare, distribute, and collect materials and supplies for daily activities.
  • Encourage camper participation and engagement in all camp programs.
  • Assist with setting up and cleaning up activity areas before and after use.
Program Operations
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming camp environment.
  • Assist with attendance tracking, sign-in/sign-out procedures, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Support meal, snack, and rest periods by helping campers follow routines and expectations.
  • Follow camp schedules and assist with transitions between activities.
Safety and Compliance
  • Adhere to all school, camp, and diocesan policies and procedures.
  • Follow established health, safety, and emergency protocols.
  • Immediately report accidents, injuries, behavioral concerns, or safety issues to camp supervisors.
  • Help maintain appropriate supervision ratios at all times.
Faith and Community
  • Support the Catholic mission and values of the school.
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating respect, kindness, integrity, and Christian values.
  • Participate in prayer, faith-based activities, and community-building experiences as appropriate.
  • Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for all campers and families.
Job Requirements
  • High school student, high school graduate, or college student preferred.
  • Experience working with children in educational, recreational, parish, or volunteer settings is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents.
  • Demonstrated responsibility, dependability, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
