Description / Job Summary

The Bartender facilitates a superior beverage and dining experience for Ansley Golf Club members and guests. The Bartender assembles, serves and delivers food and beverage items using appropriate safety and sanitation methods while adhering to the highest standards of professional etiquette.


All applicants MUST be 18 years or older.


Bartender

Greets members and guests in a warm and friendly manner upon their arrival.

Takes beverage orders (and food orders) and inputs them into the POS system.

Mixes, prepares and serves consistent alcoholic and specialty beverages for the servers and members in the bar area.

Prepares garnishes by slicing lemons, limes and oranges with a small paring knife.

Delivers food and beverages, and clears, refills beverages, and checks on dining members.

Cleans equipment/service area as indicated by side work sheet at the beginning and end of shift.

Maintains the highest standard of cleanliness and neatness in the bar dining area.

Memorizes daily food and beverage specials.

Informs members and their guests of specials and is knowledgeable about menu and wine lists.

Presents check for signature and maintains accurate member checks. Turns checks and settlement in to supervisor at the end of each shift.

Attends pre-shift (line-up) sessions as required

Assists co-workers with member service. Serving members is a "section-less" job.

Follows Club policies and procedures regarding alcoholic beverage service to include notifying the manager when continued service to member is in question.

Adheres to uniform standards while on property.

Consistently maintains and expands food and beverage knowledge specifically as related to the Club menus and offerings.

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Minimum of 1 year of bartending experience required.

Previous private club experience preferred.

Strong customer service orientation.

Good communication skills with strong organizational ability.

Must be able to work at a fast pace on occasion.

Must be able to handle glasses and glassware.

Must be able to slice fruit for garnishes.

Frequent lifting, bending, reaching and pulling.

Must be able to climb stairs.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to 6 hours per shift.

Occasional sitting.

Exposure to cleaning chemicals.

Must be able to work independently and function as a team member.
