Job description

Utopian Academy for the Arts (UAFA) Substitute Teacher Application Process for the 2026-2027 School Year
To join the pool of qualified substitute teachers, you must meet one of the following criteria:
  • Hold a current teaching certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC); or
  • Be eligible for a GaPSC teaching certificate (via out of state certification); or
  • Hold a Substitute Teacher certificate of completion from SubSkills Online Training Course (via stedi.com)
If you meet the criteria above, you are EXEMPT from taking the SubSkills Online Training Course at Stedi.com. However, you must complete the following steps.
  • Online Application
  • Fingerprinting/Background Check
  • Submission of official transcript for the highest level of education that you have obtained. (This should be submitted to hr@utopianacademy.com)
  • In-Person Onboarding and Screening
If you do not meet the above criteria, follow these steps:
  • Complete Training: SubSkills Online Training Course ($49.95) https://mylearning.stedi.org/shop/
  • Complete Online Application
  • Fingerprinting/Background Check
  • Submission of official transcript for the highest level of education that you have obtained. (This should be submitted to hr@utopianacademy.com)
  • In-Person Onboarding and Screening
These positions are eligible for substitute roles across the Utopian Network of schools. Once hired, you will be given information that will allow you to indicate your preference for Elementary (Ellenwood), Middle (Ellenwood), Middle (Trilith), High School (Morrow), or any combination.
Rate of Pay: $120/daily or $160/daily for long-term (at least 7 days in same assignment)
